Another international break has come and gone in the blink of an eye and week 8 of the still relatively young season is upon us. News was made in the last fortnight with the long protracted Newcastle Utd takeover finally being completed. It’s a new dawn for one of the Premier League’s sleeping giants and overnight they have become one of the world’s richest clubs. This weekend they welcome Tottenham and the new regime could see them as the perfect opponents to get Newcastle’s new dawn off to the best possible start.

Elsewhere there are some tasty looking fixtures

SATURDAY

Watford vs Liverpool

Aston Villa vs Wolves

Leicester vs Manchester Utd

Manchester City vs Burnley

Norwich vs Brighton

Southampton vs Leeds

Brentford vs Chelsea

SUNDAY

Everton vs West Ham

Newcastle vs Tottenham

MONDAY

Arsenal vs Crystal Palace

Looking to get back on the winning tread we are trying to keep things as simple as possible. We are still +20 for the season but we will be looking to extend that this weekend.

PICK 1: Liverpool to beat Watford - 7/20

Once again there will be a new manager in the Watford dugout for this match and the Watford board have turned to the experienced hand of Premier League legend Claudio Ranieri. Ranieri has a tough task to begin with as his Watford side welcome an unbeaten Liverpool side.

Liverpool would have been disappointed with their 2-2 draw against Man City. It was a brilliant game, but Liverpool would have wanted to see the game out after taking the lead with only ten minutes left.

Away from home Liverpool have been good,  beating Norwich and Leeds 3-0 before playing out a thriller against Brentford where they drew 3-3. Watford at home have been inconsistent, with one win, one draw and one loss. It’s early days under Ranieri and there will be better days to come but I think it will be a losing start for the enigmatic Italian and his hornets.

PICK 2: Manchester United to beat Leicester- 21/20

It’s a bit of a risky pick but sooner or later you have to just take notice of the stats. United are on this amazing unbeaten run away from home and Leicester have had an odd start to the season.

Both sides are really struggling at the back. Leicester have only kept one clean sheet all season which came back in matchday 1. United haven’t faired much better as despite the arrival of Raphael Varane, they have also only kept one clean sheet. Utd head into this match without both Harry Maguire and Varane but Leicester look shaky. Cruising 2-0 away to Crystal Palace, the wheels came off for the Foxes and they were lucky to emerge from Selhurst Park with a point, as they hung on for a 2-2 draw.

One of the better teams over the last few years, Brendan Rodgers has to be concerned with his sides slow start to the season. Leicester’s home form doesn’t inspire a whole heap of confidence as they have only won once at the King Power this season. Utd on the other hand away from home are unbeaten after victories against West Ham and Wolves and  a draw against Southampton.

In what I think could be a high scoring game, I have more faith in Ronaldo and co to get the job done and at an ok price of 21/20 we are backing the Red Devil’s to get back to winning ways and extend their unbeaten away run.

PICK 3: Man City to win both halves against Burnley - Evens

Man City are 1/9 to win this game which represents absolute no value whatsoever, however if you look through the markets you can still find some decent value, and for Man City to win both halves they are priced at an attractive price of evens.

Burnley fans must be fearing the worse as Burnley’s head to head record against City at the Etihad makes for grim viewing. The last four times that the two have met at the Etihad, Man City have won 5-0 on each occasion.

In these type of games it is often the first goal that is so crucial. If Man City get it early it could be yet another tough day for Burnley, with the hope that Man City can score goals in both halves and get the job done for our bet.

A treble on Liverpool, Man Utd and Man City to win both halves is priced at 5/1
